Traces of Stone Age people are often found in the numerous grottos and caves near Vajarc. The dolmens near Béduer also testify that the area was already inhabited in the Neolithic period.

This immense cliff seems to float in the air. But it is actually the entrance to a cave. A gigantic place that deserves to be visited.

Cajarc was made famous by the comedian Coluche, during a sketch, where the latter parodies a cult radio program: Le Schmilblick. The village is backed by the causse of Saint-Chels, and is surrounded by cirques of limestone plateaus. The village is located at the foot of the Lot River, it benefits from a natural setting conducive to relaxation and sports activities.

Cajarc is a town on the River Lot in France. Cajarc is the capital of the canton of the same name in the Lot department. Cajarc has been inhabited for centuries. The location was therefore ideal: on a rocky high point in a large meander of the Lot.

Cajarc is a very beautiful place with narrow old town streets. It is a medieval place, but very busy. Hostels, restaurants, cafés, shops and post office are available. What's particularly nice about Cajarc is the location. The place is surrounded by high rock walls. Cajarc was made famous by President Georges Pompidou, who had a country house here. Cajarc has been an important stopover for pilgrims since the 13th century because there was already a hospice there.
