The Creux du Van is approximately 1,200 meters wide and 500 meters deep. The total length of the rock faces, which drop approximately 160 meters vertically, is approximately four kilometers. The area is located near Mont Soliat at 1,200 to 1,450 meters above sea level. A whole herd of beautiful animals lives at the Creux du van. Very good to watch. Unfortunately, there are always incorrigibles who don't leash their dogs or harass the animals 😞

Impressive place full of power and unique nature. The climb from Noiraigue to Creux du Van is strenuous and steep, but the views and magic of this place make up for the exertion. If you have enough energy, you can then descend to the Gorges de l'Areuse and hike through the beautiful gorge to Boudry.
