A small idyll on the very edge of Lausanne: the Louis Bourget Park. It is named after a doctor, naturalist and ornithologist who, during his lifetime from 1856 to 1913, campaigned for this spot to be declared a nature reserve.

The Port of Lausanne, also known as Ouchy, is a picturesque harbor and popular lakeside destination to the south of central Lausanne. Here are some interesting facts about this charming place: Ouchy offers beautiful views of Lake Geneva and the Alps. It is an ideal place to relax and enjoy the scenery. The promenade along the quays is rich in flowers and trees and was first opened in 1901.

The Jetée de la Compagnie is a temporary terrace on the shores of Lake Geneva in Lausanne-Ouchy. This scenic deck is a great place to sunbathe after a dip in the lake. In the evening, the smell of grilled food, cocktails and the beautiful view of the sunset create a relaxing atmosphere. The Jetée de la Compagnie also organizes yoga classes and concerts throughout the summer season.

The Quai des Savoyards in Lausanne is a beautiful promenade along Lake Geneva. It is a picturesque place where you can walk, relax and enjoy the view of the lake and the Alps. The promenade connects the old port area with the Tour Haldimand, a historic tower that once stood on an island, similar to the Château d'Ouchy from the 12th century. Along the Quai des Savoyards you will also find several large parks, including the Parc du Denantou, with lush lawns and centuries-old trees.

The Louis Bouget Park is located on the western edge of the municipality. The Chamberonne River forms the border with the municipalities of Ecublens and St-Sulpice, where the University of Lausanne and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology are located. The park offers the only natural beach on Lake Geneva in the Lausanne area. This park, which has more than a kilometre of lakefront and is therefore also suitable for swimming, has two faces: from October to March, you can take solitary walks in an environment shaped by water and wind.
