A lovely hike with a fair amount of climbing. Upon reaching the top, you climb the ridge to the summit. Magnificent view ♡ People with a fear of heights should avoid! This hike is not ideal for those with a dog or walking poles.

From the gap (point 2182) directly over the ridge without a path (T5) to the summit. From the summit you can continue south over the ridge to the Pas de la Borière. Airy scramble. Looking out over Lake Geneva from an altitude of 1000 metres, the Cauxcentre can accommodate up to 400 people. Formerly the Caux-Palace Hotel, in 1946 it became an international meeting place, thanks to the generous contributions in time, talent and money of many volunteers. The view of Lake Geneva and Mt. Blanc in the background is said to be breathtaking. Unfortunately, the weather conditions on my tour weren't quite perfect.

If you are looking for a picturesque, family-friendly hike in the Friborg region, you should visit Cabane de Bounavaux. This cozy mountain cabin is located in the Vanil Noir nature reserve, the highest peak in the Friborg Pre-Alps. There you can enjoy a delicious soup and a refreshing drink, while admiring the view of the surrounding peaks. The cabin is open and guarded from the end of May to the beginning of October, and you can access it on foot from Grandvillard or from the Baudes car park.

The Palace Caux hotel is a former luxury hotel which welcomed international high society during the Belle Époque. Today it is a conference and seminar center that provides an inspiring and peaceful setting for meetings, events, workshops and retreats. You can admire the elegant architecture and stunning views of the lake and mountains from the palace grounds. You can then continue your run through forests, vineyards and rocky cliffs, enjoying the beauty and diversity of nature.

The SAC hut Bounavaux is located on the western flanks of the Vanil Noir in the nature reserve around the highest mountain in Fribourg. The hut towers above Grandvillard and is located at 1620 meters above sea level. The mountain hut offers catering as well as sleeping accommodation for 30 people in a dormitory (on reservation). Nearby, between the car park and the hut, is the small Lac de Coudré.

Very popular summit as it is easily accessible via the funicular to Plan-Francey and from there by cable car to Moléson. From the mountain station, the summit is only about 200m away with a good 30 meters in altitude. Most of the time there are many people on the mountain. A little further away from the mountain station you have peace and quiet again.
