The Porte des Moulins is one of the impressive city gates and dates back to the 17th century. It was once the main entrance to the fortified city and is now a listed monument. The fortifications stretch over 3.5 kilometers with seven gates and twelve towers. From the city walls, you can enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the region.

The Tour des Remparts (~3.5 km) is great for a run, because it is perfectly serviced, almost car-free all the way, and constantly offers a beautiful view. It is mainly tarmac or cement, generally very flat with a few short steep sections.

Langres Cathedral is dedicated to the 3rd century martyr Mammes of Caesarea. The cathedral is the seat of the Bishop of Langres and is a national monument. The cathedral dates from the 12th century and has a mixture of Romanesque, Gothic and Classical styles. The roof is decorated with colourful tiles and the façade has many details. The cathedral has some remarkable tapestries that are worth seeing. The cathedral is also a place of pilgrimage, as it houses the holy relic of the head of Saint Mammes. The cathedral is 94m long and 23m high. The façade was destroyed by fire and replaced in the 18th century by a three-storey classical façade.

The approximately 4 kilometer long fortress belt and the wonderful Renaissance houses have been wonderfully preserved. The fortress belt includes a total of 6 gates, of which the most notable is the Porte des Moulins (1647), as well as 7 towers, which are considered masterpieces of military architecture of the late Middle Ages. A walk on the fortress walls is a must for visitors to the city, especially. a. during the summer months, when the minstrels go in search of the city's almost two thousand year old history.
