Founded in the early 18th century, the parish of Leysin became independent in 1702, led by refugee pastor Charles Bourdin. The first services were held in a rectory located on Place Louis Favez, built the same year, before the construction of the current church.

Aigle flourishes at the foot of the Vaud Prealps, at the crossroads of the Rhône and Grande Eau valleys, in a region where vineyards meet mountains. Its medieval heart houses the arcades of Jerusalem Street, and fountains and sculptures can be discovered in the Cloître, Fontaine, Chapelle, and Bourg districts. Lac d'Aï is a small alpine lake located above the village of Leysin in the Swiss Alps. It is located at an altitude of 1892 m. It is fed by a stream which has its source at the Tour d'Aï, a rocky peak which rises to 2330 m. The lake is surrounded by forests, meadows and rocks, and is home to many marmots playing hide and seek among the rocks. The lake is a popular destination for hikers who can enjoy the scenic views and tranquility of the place.
