Beautiful greenway recently renovated with a good gravel surface.

This superb so-called semi-rock church has three levels. These Romanesque frescoes and its troglodyte appearance give this 10th century religious building a special place. The place is more splendid.

The town of Mirepoix with its beautiful arcades, its colorful houses, its checkerboard streets, its beautiful wooden gargoyles and its numerous shops and cafes seems preserved from the vicissitudes of time. It’s a trip into the past that we indulge in when we walk through the city center.

A nice stretch to get you into Pamiers. An old, abandoned, railroad which you can follow straight into Pamiers. Not in such a good shape as the better know 'Voie Verte' but still a good ride.

Beautiful medieval city in Cathar country!

_ An incredible diversity of "single" and "double" tracks located on the ridge line with an incredible view of the high mountains and the pre-Pyrenees. There are some difficult steep sections and the attention should be constant on the "singles" but the rewards are numerous .// An incredible mix of single track and double track high up on a ridge line with amazing views of the high mountains and the pre-Pyrenees. There are some tough, steep sections and care is needed on the single track but the rewards are plentiful!

Romanesque semi-rock church from the 10th century in the town of Vals

Dominating the small village of Vals is Sainte-Marie rock church, a mysterious and unusual group of buildings carved out of the rock. Accessible via a staircase built through a cleft in the rock, the building consists of two naves on top of each other and houses some splendid Romanesque frescoes depicting episodes from the life of Christ. The church also has a terrace with a fantastic view over the surrounding countryside and the Ariège Pyrenees. Not to be missed!
