This superb so-called semi-rock church has three levels. These Romanesque frescoes and its troglodyte appearance give this 10th century religious building a special place. The place is more splendid.

A track cycle path as known from Andalusia

The viaduct was intended to receive the line from Foix to Saint-Girons from 1902 for the section from Foix to La Bastide-de-Sérou. A greenway is now installed on the site of the old railway line and borrows the viaduct, thus offering a point of view on the castle of Foix.

After the plains, towns, villages and farms, we approach the foot of the Pyrenean foothills. The woods become denser and take precedence over the corn and sunflower fields. Pastures where beautiful limousines graze, interspersed with woods. The road rises slowly but surely, passes along cliffs and sometimes walks in narrow rocky corridors. The passage to the wash house of Raissac can be the occasion to refresh oneself and to sit down a little before starting the last descent on Lavelanet.
