There are a number of mine entrances in the forest around Lasauvage where mining stopped in 1978. Minette is a type of mineral deposit, consisting of iron ore of sedimentary origin, found in the south of Luxembourg and in Lorraine.

The neo-Gothic church was built by the Count Saintignon. Dedicated to the saint patron of the miners, the church distinguishes itself by a rare representation of the saint. While, according to the tradition the iconographic attribute of Saint Barbara is a tower she holds in her hands or stands by her feet, but in the church of Lasauvage she is located inside a tower.
