You follow the signs with the horseshoes like on a pilgrimage - the path is impossible to miss and is simply incredibly beautiful, especially for horse lovers! At the beginning I had no idea how to open the gates - I even suspected that you had to pay to do so. They do, but only for riders. As a hiker you simply grab the very top bar of the gate and pull it towards you, the gate opens and then closes automatically. Because of the height, bikers and riders don't have to dismount. Clever - if you know how it works 😉🙈
