The Burgäschisee, sometimes also simply Aeschisee, lies on the canton border of the cantons of Bern and Solothurn, with around two thirds on the Solothurn canton area. The lake is located in the municipalities of Aeschi (SO) and Seeberg (BE) at an altitude of 465 meters above sea level. The lake is fed by the Füürstein Canal, while the Seebach flows out. The natural lake is almost 700m long and 500m wide and is surrounded by a forest and reeds. The lake is located in a nature reserve.

The fireplace at the edge of the forest is in Bolken between the Burgäschisee and Inkwilersee on the Urzeitenweg! 😁

Beautiful, well-developed circular route. The lake is well visited on sunny days / weekends / holidays. A visit at off-peak times can be worthwhile.

Small lake with lido and other swimming opportunities. You can walk or ride around on foot or by mountain bike. A well-known restaurant, the "Gasthaus Seeblick am Burgäschisee" is highly recommended!

Bathing is only allowed in the lido and in countersigned areas so that the many animals also have their retreat. Please respect that.
