The Grosse Allmend in northeast Bern is a popular local recreation area for all kinds of leisure activities. It's primarily used for football, but other sports are also practiced around the large green space. Runners can run around the Grosse Allmend; a path leads all the way around it.

The Ostermundingen outdoor pool is open from mid-May to mid-September. There are various pools: a sports pool for swimming lengths, a diving tower and also a paddling pool for children. The pool opens at 9 a.m. each morning.
