Beautiful small town in Switzerland

Super beautiful directly along the Rhine.

After a severe flood hit the city in 1343, the Gallus Tower was built together with the city wall both as protection against further flooding and as a defensive structure.

The mighty church building in the Baroque style with two towers reflects the size and importance of the former monastery and convent that led to the founding of the city. Inside, the Catholic church has a bright nave and numerous paintings.

The most beautiful view of the old town of Bad Säckingen and the wooden bridge can be seen from the Swiss side of the Rhine. Here you can also take a rest in the shade of the willows and watch the steady flow of the Rhine.

Very nice to ride a bike. There are a few corners here that invite you to linger. Stein itself is worth seeing, but not cheap

The Fridolin's Minster with its baroque onion domes towers over the medieval townscape of Bad Säckingen. The foundation stone was laid in 1343 and the consecration in 1360. As a result of two fires, the interior was redesigned in the early Baroque style and in 1752 in the Rococo style it has today.
