This village of character is classified among the “Most Beautiful Villages of France”. Charroux was a fortified town and an important trade crossroads in the Middle Ages. It is a must-have in the department. The village is home to many artisans and offers a unique stopover.

The Chouvigny gorges follow the Sioule river, which has carved a deep and narrow gorge through the volcanic rocks of the Combrailles region. You'll enjoy views of lush greenery, towering cliffs and the medieval Chouvigny Castle, which dates from the 13th century. You can also stop at the village of Chouvigny, which has a rich history and charming atmosphere.

The Sioule gorges extend from Ébreuil, passing through Chouvigny, and as far as the meander of Queuille, in the well of Puy-de-Dôme. The road, which winds through the rocks, offers magnificent views of the steep and verdant gorges.
