Abbey of Sainte-Marie de Fontfroide (Abbaye de Fontfroide) Even though the last monks left Fontfroide more than 100 years ago, you still feel that you are in a special place. Since the rooms are largely empty, the simple architecture appears all the more impressive.

Château de Montséret was originally built in 1050 and has evolved over the years. Now unfortunately only a ruined castle but with a very nice view.

Very beautiful abbey that you should definitely visit. It is also easy to do in midsummer, as it is relatively cool and pleasant in the old walls. The path to the viewpoint above the abbey is a bit difficult in summer when it is very hot; but definitely another highlight in spring and autumn

... and the restaurant belonging to the Abbey was very good: 3-part menu (goose liver pate, loup de mer, dessert) for 35 €; The opened wine bottle with local "Klosterwein" you get wrapped up for private drinking
