The marmot cabin? Or rather the Jean Forgées cabin which is a private cabin not accessible. Located at the entrance to the suspended valley after a rather demanding climb in the forest. A pretty waterfall accessible a little further.

Amazing place but you have to make a reservation if you want to have lunch there. They hardly answer the phone 😮‍💨

Near the course of the Neste de Rioumajou, surrounded by imposing Pyrenean peaks on all sides, the refuge is the ideal place to spend the night in the mountains. Meals, sleeping, all services are offered, not to mention the concerts organized on Thursdays.

Very beautiful point of view on the surrounding peaks as well as on the peak of Bastan which awaits you. The night at the edge of the lake is very pleasant.

The Bastan refuge is located a little higher up, on the shores of Lac du Milieu. It is open from the last weekend of May to the first weekend of October, continuously. It offers a 12-seat dormitory as well as a refectory for which we advise you to book in advance on the refuge website: http://refugedebastan.fr/dates-douverture/ However, the refuge remains open out of season (you will need to bring your duvets) to accommodate hikers in need of shelter.
