The peace linden tree of Aarau was planted in 1945 to commemorate the end of the war. It stands at the edge of the forest above the Zelgli Quartier and is a popular viewpoint with barbecue area. The field name "Lueg is Land" is no coincidence: From the peace linden you have in good weather a great view over the city of Aarau away to the Jura chain.
