The Goutals, identified by its cross at the top of the slopes of the ski resort of St Urcize (Cantal), is an extraordinary 360° panoramic point in good weather, the view extends over the entire Aubrac of the 3 departments (Cantal -Aveyron-Lozère) to Plomb du Cantal and on the distant horizon Puy de Sancy (Puy de Dôme). The forest climb from the station is quite easy. 🏵🌿🌺🌸

Small mountain village in the Massif Central, in Aubrac. It is one of the Small Towns of Character, with many granite houses that can be found in the small streets and on the squares of the village. Just on the outskirts of the village, spreads out the glacial valley of the Lhère, bordered by basalt cliffs.

Magnificent village in the heart of Aubrac where you can find everything you need (grocery store, campsite, bakery, etc.) Even the butcher has superb recommendations for cycling routes!

The village counts for its attractions among the "Small Cities of Character". The ubiquitous granite frame blends wonderfully with the natural setting of the Aubrac high plateau which hosts it. Saint-Urcize stands at an altitude of 1,000 meters on basalt rock overlooking the Hère and Bès valleys, on the Aubrac plateau. The old houses, the narrow streets, the small squares with fountains, the remains of fortifications and the ruins of the old fort give the city its medieval character and attest to its very ancient origins. The gray slate and schist roofs blend with the remarkable 12th century Romanesque church whose combed bell tower dominates the town. Its small bell dating from 1583 is said to be one of the oldest in France, and its ambulatory guarantees that the city was a stage in the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela in the Middle Ages.
