A truly extraordinary spot. A few information panels explain a great deal about the mill, as well as the resurgence of the Vis River. This place should be respected, of course (as everywhere). Be careful, there are a few tricky sections. Keep an eye on your children, pets, or elderly visitors.

The Vis Gorges combine spectacular cliffs, whitewater, and lush vegetation from the valley floor to the plateau. They are particularly well-known for being home to the Navacelles cirque.

Very nice area, mostly shaded path. There are even several small waterfalls when there are many more on the previous days. Be careful, people who are afraid of heights may have difficulty on this trail.

Using the power of moving water to drive a mill wheel is an ancient invention that dates back to pre-Christian times. Thanks to such a construction, human or animal muscle power could easily be replaced by a watercourse - natural or artificial - in order, for example, to grind grains into grain. There are essentially two different ways to drive water mills: either the water simply hits the blades of the water wheel from below to set it in motion; or the water flow is guided above the wheel and falls onto the blades, with this design there is greater efficiency due to natural gravity.
