For your information, historically this was the arrival station for the cable car. It operated until the installation of the television and radio relay. After a storm, it's not uncommon for the relay to go into standby mode. TDF has a contract that runs from Monday to Friday. In case of a power outage, the weekend is reserved for reading or playing board games.

Lourdes, a small town in the Pyrenees in southwestern France, became world-famous in 1858 through the Marian apparitions of the young Bernadette Soubirous. Since then, Lourdes has been one of the most important pilgrimage sites of the Catholic Church. Millions of pilgrims visit the Grotto of Massabielle every year to pray or draw water from the spring. The place combines deep spirituality with a quiet, haunting atmosphere and the hope of healing.

This church in the internationally important Marian pilgrimage site of Lourdes is not simply dedicated to the Mother of God; it often has additional titles dedicating it to a church feast such as her "Immaculate Conception," Nativity, or Assumption. The patronage chosen for this basilica, however, bears a special suffix: the Rosary. This refers to a prayer that was very popular in popular piety in earlier times and is still practiced today in many parishes and private households (at least among the older generation). It is particularly popular on foot pilgrimages, for example, because the repetition of the individual decades by the prayer leader and the response of the worshippers easily creates a meditative atmosphere. According to ancient tradition, there were three versions that were meditated on while praying: + the Joyful Mysteries + the Sorrowful Mysteries + the Glorious Mysteries Pope John Paul II (Karol Wojtyla) added + the Luminous Mysteries.

The Chapel of Reconciliation is a place for active believers. Here, prayer reaches new depths, and believers gain a deeper understanding of the Sacrament of Reconciliation. The chapel was formerly part of the Way of the Cross, but has been relocated since 1988. In front of the chapel stands a majestic statue of Saint Vianney in prayer.

The Maison Paternelle, known as the "Moulin Lacadé," was Bernadette's childhood home. It was donated by Father Peyramale, the parish priest. Magnificent view over the plain and the Gaves valley. On the other hand, it is not an old luxury hotel at the top, but the old cable car station. There is indeed a project to transform it into a shelter, but the funding is not forthcoming.

Magnificent viewpoint once at the top but DO NOT take the route that leaves from Parking Boissarie!! From the old cable car down to the river the hiking trail no longer exists. No choice but to go down but in the middle of brambles, nettles and a few slips. As the old hiking trail is no longer maintained, it has become dangerous. With the "good" surprise of coming face to face with hunters...
