Stones on the Border – Montenach Art Trail A cross-border sculpture trail with 34 sandstone works by international artists – initiated in 1986 by Paul Schneider. Each stone tells of peace, friendship, and cultural dialogue between France and Saarland. Tip: Follow the path along the ridge above Montenach and enjoy the combination of art, landscape, and distant views. Stop at each work – for a photo, a story, or a moment of reflection. And: Binoculars help you spot details from a distance!

🛶 Art installation "La barque de pierre", Montenach This impressive stone sculpture in the shape of a boat sits enthroned on a hill above Montenach. A small staircase leads up to it – as if you were stepping into a boat and letting your gaze "sail" over the vast landscape. Tip: Particularly atmospheric when the sun is low in the sky. A quiet, inspiring place for a short rest, a souvenir photo – or simply to marvel.
