A really beautiful cycle path on an old railway line. It is completely asphalted and is therefore a wonderful ride and there are one or two bridge highlights to admire along the way.

By bike the top of the town is a very daunting climb if you don't find the right road but it's worth seeing. At the edge of the Gave you can almost certainly see a swan or a pair of swans with one or two little ones. TO HAVE !

The lakes offer a fishing center consisting of 3 bodies of water. A path laid out between the bodies of water allows walks and bike rides. Educational panels are scattered in different places. Note that the site is built on an old gravel pit, the water coming from the water table.

The salt pan town of Salies de Bearn is worth a detour with its pleasant alleys and medieval house facades. There are many good places to stop for refreshments here

In the past, at no. 15 and no. 5, there was a pilgrim hostel that belonged together. With Covid this has been closed. A French-English Couple bought #5 cheaply and have been doing so since Dec 2021. However, it looks more like "chambres d'hotes" and investment property. The double room costs 50,- and we didn't get any sheets or towels. In a room with a bunk bed we would have paid 25 euros per person. There is only one shared bathroom. Breakfast from 7:00 a.m. costs another 5,-. That doesn't seem very pilgrim-oriented to us. But since this is almost the only option in town, it's a matter of "supply and demand". The terrace is an oasis of calm on the city wall.

A small place in a valley between two steep climbs. There was a pilgrims' hospital here in the 10th century, of which only the church remains. A pilgrim statue greets you today.

Very pretty little town with a rich heritage. Overlooks the Gave de Pau. Bakery, café, grocery store and public toilet (next to the town hall)

View from the Came-Guiche cycle path along the Bidouze. The ruins of the castle are located near the village of Bidache. Various shops on site. If you decide to refuel, you will have to leave the track and go up towards the village. You can join the track at the exit of Bidache, direction Guiche Port.
