The flight of Icarus symbolizes the desire for knowledge, disobedience and disregard for natural laws, while Mercury is the god of commerce, eloquence, travelers, commerce and profit. The figure's body itself forms a figure eight with a heart outline at the top. By nature we are empty creatures and only life gives us fullness, so I leave it to everyone to fill in the blanks in their own mind.
