Pure panorama: From every peak, views open up over the Po Valley, the Tuscan hinterland, and on a clear day, even as far as the Alps. Hiking on the ridge: The connection of these six peaks is one of the most beautiful ridge hikes in the Northern Apennines – challenging but rewarding. Not to be forgotten: Lago Scaffaiolo, a tranquil mountain lake at 1,775 m – ideal for a short rest with a view of the expansive landscape.

The entire ridge hike is a single highlight – a true gem in the Apennines in terms of landscape, alpine scenery, and atmosphere. The "Crown of the Bolognese Apennines": On the ridge between Monte Cupolino and Cinghio del Sermidano, six striking peaks are lined up like pearls: Cupolino, Spigolino, Corno alle Scale, Punta Sofia, the small Cinghio di Mezzogiorno, and finally the rocky Cinghio del Sermidano. A mountain range full of panoramas, nature, and history – the tranquil crown above the Apennines.

Natural border between the provinces of Modena and Lucca, the path on the Apennine ridge passes here from the top of Mount Rondinaio, which reaches an altitude of 2,000 metres. From up here you have a crazy view: on one side the Garfagnana and the Apuan Alps, on the other the Tagliole valley.
