Céret is a small town in the southernmost part of France, right on the Spanish border. The town exudes southern French charm, and its weekly market, held under plane trees, is the most beautiful I know. Incidentally, the town is truly picturesque; Picasso, among others, spent a summer working here.

A place that, strangely enough, remains unknown even to most French people, yet it oozes southern French charm: old buildings in rosé and ochre-orange, numerous avenues of plane trees within the town, lovely sidewalk cafés, and, above all, no tourist stress, no plastic world. This beautiful little town is nestled on the slopes of the Pyrenees and is therefore also attractive for hikers. Braque and Picasso, incidentally, spent a working summer here.

A beautiful village in the eastern Pyrenees that's well worth a visit, as it boasts beautiful corners and several hiking trails.

A stony and demanding uphill section between the Llinas and Sant Joan passes. On the descent, you can enjoy splendid views of the Canigou massif.

From this beautiful border pass with views of both slopes, we can descend to the Requesens Monastery and Cantallops.

The Sorède River rises in the Albères massif and flows down through the valley, passing through the village before reaching the plain. This river is particularly appreciated for its picturesque landscapes and its areas suitable for swimming, particularly in the "Happy Valley", where there is a waterfall popular with hikers and locals.

The area around Céret and Pla Bulat is well connected by a network of VTT (Vélo Tout Terrain) routes, which is the French term for mountain biking. Some routes are circular, allowing you to cover a good stretch without having to repeat the same route. There are marked MTB routes that cross the Albères massif, which include gradual ascents and exciting descents through forests, with spectacular views of the Pyrenees and, at some points, the Mediterranean.
