The memorial plaque reads: Resistance roundabout During the second half of August 1944, elements of the retreating German army followed one another up the road from the southern Ardèche, constantly harassed by the resistance soldiers: the FFI (French Forces of the Interior). By denying the enemy access to the Aubenas plain, the AS and FTPF companies in this sector will provoke the so-called 'Battle of Coiron'. This place was, among other things, the scene of this confrontation which claimed numerous victims, freedom fighters or civilians caught up in the destructive hatred of the Nazis. Let us remember their sacrifice.
