Beautiful view of Normannstein Castle

A very beautiful valley and very well-ridden. A "forest highway" for mountain biking and gravel.

Perched high above the medieval half-timbered town of Treffurt, the Normannstein Castle watches over the town and the Werra Valley. The castle, which is also accessible by car and wheelchair accessible, offers a fantastic view of the town and the Werra Valley.

The old Werra Bridge is one of the oldest bridges in Germany, its origins dating back to the 13th century.

A bicycle bridge over the Werra is more than just a crossing - it is an invitation to experience the beauty of the landscape from a new perspective.

St. Mary's Church is the town's Catholic church. It is located on private property – the Sachsenhof. The church is usually open to visitors when the gate is open. The farm, by the way, offers homemade soft ice cream, which attracts many local children.

The cherry orchard is a former cultivated area that every resident of Treffurt was required to manage. Today, things are handled somewhat differently: since 2014, the town has given each newlywed couple a cherry tree and planted this orchard.
