The Roda Monastery was a Cistercian monastery in Stadtroda (Thuringia). It was founded between 1228 and 1247 as a private monastery for the Lobdeburgers and also served as their burial place. After the introduction of the Reformation in 1534, it was abolished. The monastery church was built in the Gothic style in the mid-13th century. It bears clear stylistic traits of the Hirsau and Maulbronn reforms. Since it was destroyed in the Thirty Years' War in 1638, the church has fallen into ruin. Today, the red sandstone church is one of the largest monastery ruins in Thuringia. (Source: Wikipedia)

First mentioned in 1610, the hammer mill was part of Hainbücht until it was incorporated by Stadtroda. In the years since it was founded, the mill has been constantly expanded to include a grinding mill, oil mill and grinding mill. In 1953 the mill was stopped. Today the Hammermühle is a popular hotel for high demands.

In addition to what Blumie said, I can say that this ruin offers wonderful photo opportunities. Still lifes and people can be particularly staged there. A must for every ambitious photographer. 🙂📷
