The coastal path directly along the cliffs is unfortunately closed for safety reasons, but this path is also really beautiful and you can walk comfortably - without any fear of breaking off with the cliff 😲

The tower of a Christian church is usually crowned with a cross – symbolizing the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ – or a rooster – symbolizing the denial of Jesus by the Apostle Peter. In this chapel, dedicated to "Notre-Damé" ("Our Lady"), the viewer instead finds a gilded statue of the Virgin Mary at the top. From this prominent position, it overlooks land and sea. The builders surely understood this primarily as a sign of blessing the earth and water – and especially the people who sail the sea.

Tilleul Beach is a wonderful place to enjoy the tranquility of the Normandy coast. With its white chalk cliffs that dramatically extend into the sea and the idyllic pebble beach, it provides the perfect backdrop for a relaxing stroll. What makes this beach particularly exciting is the opportunity to explore a small grotto. If you're curious enough, the path will take you through this natural cave, and on the other side, you'll be rewarded with fantastic views of the sea. Be careful of the tides, though – they can change quickly, and you could get wet if you wait too long! It's best to pack your swimsuit just in case. The pebble beach is perfect for taking a break during your hike and enjoying the view of the impressive cliffs. Locals and hikers alike gather here to appreciate Normandy's unspoiled nature. A truly worthwhile hike along the Alabaster Coast, where you can experience both the cliffs from above and the water up close.

The coast at Étretat completely captivated me. The Roc Vaudieu in particular, an isolated rock in the sea, gives the impression that nature had created it for us hikers to remind us of how powerful it is. No wonder artists like Monet and other impressionists set up their easels right here. The dramatic shapes that the cliffs create in interaction with the sparkling waters of the English Channel are simply fascinating. As I walked along the cliffs, I kept discovering new perspectives. Sometimes the rock rises out of the sea like a lonely pillar, sometimes it frames the horizon perfectly. The air smells of salt and the eternal sound of the waves accompanies you as you walk along the coast. The area is perfect for a break to enjoy the scenery. Étretat itself is a picturesque place with charming alleys and a turbulent history. So if you are in Normandy, a detour there is almost a must. Here, nature and art merge in a special way that you should definitely experience for yourself.

This beautiful building is almost like a castle on the Loir in its splendor. It is a distillery that produces liquor and the interior is also very beautiful and can be visited. The Calvados is very good!!!
