Snake Beech
In 1714, forest ranger Melchior Lins from Weichersbach was eating his lunch at this spot beneath a massive beech tree. He was shocked to notice a snake over 3 meters long that had settled on a branch above him.
Melchior hastily raised his rifle, aimed at its head, and fired. The snake reared

That was a fantastic snowshoe tour to Himmeldunk and Simmelsberg. 😍🤩🤩
Despite some patches of fog, the view was impressive again today. The car thermometer read -5.5°C at the Schwedenschanze, and the wind was truly icy up on the mountain. 🥶
