I hiked this loop on August 17, 2025, and almost forgot about it.
Parking strategically, I first completed the 3 kilometers of mostly asphalt trail. On the plus side, no car challenged me.

There are days when everything is just perfect... sun, no wind, no annoying outboard motors on any boats 😍. Just heavenly peace and the constant chirping of birds... a dream 🤩.

Vier Kieler zu einer Tour zusammen kriegen, gar nicht so leicht, aaaber durchaus machbar. Schnacken (ich bevorzuge ja das Wort 'schnödern' 😉), stand definitiv im Fokus. Der Wettergott war uns nicht gänzlich wohlgesonnen, eine kleine Dusche zum Ende der Runde gab's als kostenlose Draufgabe. Eine Gemeinschaftsproduktion von @Kerstin (Text), Gladis (Begleitschutz), @Dicker König (Fotos), seiner Königin (Reiseleitung) und mir (Fotos).

Traumhafte Windstille, Sonne satt und frostige minus 1 Grad... ein Herbststag wie ich ihn liebe 🥰. Richtig ärgerlich wurde es erst, als ich die Runde einstellen wollte. App und web weisen unterschiedliche Bilderanzahl auf und meine Sortierversuche wurden durch komoot gänzlich verweigert 😱. Vielleicht sollten die komoot-Mitarbeiter mal auf Schulung geschickt werden, eine eigene Tour absolvieren und diese dann einstellen... warum wird immer alles verschlimmbessert 👹. Meine Versuche, die Bilder zu sortieren, habe ich genervt aufgegeben.

Diese zauberhafte Tour führt durch abwechslungsreiche Landschaft: Die DÜNE AM RIMMELSBERG, ein nur sieben Hektar großes Dünengebiet steht bereits seit 1938 unter Naturschutz. Das Gebiet besteht aus wellig-kuppigem Gelände, das zahlreiche Wacholderbüsche aufweist, von einem Eichen-Kratt umstanden ist und mit seinen Heiden und Dünen einen der größten Wacholderbestände in Schleswig-Holstein hat. Das RUPELER MOOR lieferte über Jahrhunderte Heizmaterial und war für die Bewohner eine wichtige Erwerbsquelle. Der Torf wurde für den Eigenbedarf als Winterfeuerung eingelagert und zusätzliche Mengen für den Verkauf in Husum und Flensburg gegraben. Bereits 6-jährige Kinder mussten während der Hochsaison (Mitte Mai bis Mitte Juni) an den Arbeiten teilnehmen und hierzu gegen halb drei und drei aufstehen. Die JÖRLAU gehört zu den weniger bekannten Fließgewässern auf der Schleswigschen Geest. Früher Angel- und Badeparadies der Jugendlichen, fiel auch sie der landwirtschaftlichen Nutzung zum Opfer und wurde im Verlauf verändert. Das 'POBÜLLER BAUERNHOLZ' ist eine ca. 4,5 Hektar große Waldfläche und steht bereits seit 1939 unter Naturschutz. Damaliger Schutzgrund war der Erhalt einer Feuchtheide mit randlichen Übergängen zu Eichen-Krattwäldern. Wenige Jahre später zerstörte jedoch ein Brand die Heide und die Jörler Au wurde tiefergelegt. Danach wuchs ein von Birken beherrschter Pionierwald. An die frühere Feuchtheide erinnern heute nur noch die Vorkommen des Pfeifengrases sowie einzelne Torfmoospolster. Da, wo im Jahr 1788 die Grenze zwischen Flensburg und Husum verlief, steht auch heute noch der historische GRENZSTEIN. Eine Infotafel klärt über die damaligen Gegebenheiten auf.
