On the last day, we rested our weary bones, boarded a boat, and sailed to Machern Monastery. There, we stocked up on plenty of souvenirs and enjoyed a leisurely lunch before returning to Traben-Trabach in the afternoon.

Third day and again very mixed weather 🌦
What would a Moselle vacation be without a decent vineyard hike?
So we chose a beautiful circular route through four vineyards (Wolfer Goldgrube, Kröver Nacktarsch, Kinheimer Rosenberg, Römerhang).

Second day and terrible weather 🌧
Hardly had we arrived in Traben🐎Trabach when it started to rain. Nevertheless, we explored the old wine trading town.

First day: Exploring Bernkastel-Kues and the surrounding area.
Part of the way along the Moselsteig trail leads to the Landshut Castle ruins, over Mount Olympus, to the small waterfall, and back to the beautiful old town, where we could have stayed much longer 🍷🍾🍷

It was supposed to be a quiet, leisurely tour through Weinfranken.
But since the ferry at Wipfeld was out of service for unknown reasons, we spontaneously extended the tour to the next crossing (Bergrheinfeld).

A nice walk was planned, but the reality was different 🤷♂️
The castle ruins, which were actually one of the main highlights, were completely closed due to construction work.

A beautiful circular hike to Weingarten -> Gügel -> Giechburg and back to Scheßlitz.
We did a similar route about 10 years ago. But since we enjoyed it so much back then, we absolutely had to do it again.
I highly recommend this tour!
