Today the weather forecast was right. I cycled into a black wall at 1:00 a.m....after two hours of torrential cycling, there was no need to think twice about the next campsite. Today's destination is the very nice and affordable La Durance campsite in Cavaillon. This time, not through the Luberon, but south along the EV8 road on a flat, old railway embankment. The heat is getting warmer; a pharmacy's temperature reads 34°C – very pleasant for me.

The loop is complete – I've arrived back at Cotignac MdS Base Camp safe and sound. Sophie has put together another fantastic 1000m climb. Challenging, with many small and large cols on mostly deserted back roads.

There's a new tour highlight: Col de la Sinne! Absolutely fantastic, only five cars in five hours – post office, garbage collectors, tradesmen, and locals. The last three peaks on the Mercantour circuit were the most beautiful cols for me. The scenery is stunning, and the traffic is fantastic!
