The traces of the small church in Dortmund Wellinghofen can be traced back to the 9th century. The present building dates from the late 12th century, but many changes have been made since then. Even in the Middle Ages, the church was a place of rest for pilgrims on the way to Syburg and so Jakobspilger still receive a stamp in their pilgrim pass.
