The Schwalbenthal includes the remains of a former miners' settlement above Vockerode, which suffered severe damage from a landslide in 1907 and had to be cleared. The mountain inspector's house, which later became the Schwalbenthal inn, with an adjoining farm building and the Keudell fountain, has been preserved. About 400 m away is the former cemetery.
From the Schwalbenthal you have a wonderful view of the community and the Meißnervorland and the Werratal.

No matter how you reach this point. You will be rewarded with a magnificent view of the surrounding area - the Werra Valley and the Thuringian Forest. On top of that, the immediate area is historically interesting - mining / brown coal.
