Although the Fischunkelalm is a destination for many tourists, it is nevertheless a cozy place. The bread and drinks are delicious and the view over the Obersee just wonderful!

Great hiking destination with a fantastic view of the Obersee. Even if it can get quite crowded, a trip here is definitely worth it. Cheese breads and buttermilk are particularly recommended.

The hike from Salet past the Obersee and the Fischunkelalm to the Röthbachfall was an absolute highlight!
The lake with its clear water and the great reflections and the picturesque mountain backdrop leaves you speechless and amazed. We didn't stop at the alpine pasture because there were too many people there, but then we got lost on the paths. A stop is definitely worth it because you can enjoy fresh products there.
We'll definitely be back!

The location of the alpine pasture is beautiful 🤩 and you can go swimming just below.
However, even back there it is usually a real commotion and it can happen that you have to queue for half an hour before you can get a refreshing drink, which at €4 for a 0.3l apple spritzer is not exactly cheap either!!!

The prices on the mountain pasture are not exactly cheap for a family. For a small snack and 4 drinks you have to pay €45 each. The hotspot factor is clearly on top of that. However, the view from the mountain pasture is really great 🤩

The Fischunkelalm is the only one between Obersee and the Röthbach waterfall. Ideal for strengthening yourself after visiting the waterfall for the return walk to the Saletalm landing stage.

Supplement May 2018: I was there at the end of August 2017. You can go there with a toddler, but only without a stroller. Sling or carrying frame required. It's definitely worth it.

In two main stages the Röthbachfall in the south of the Obersees overcomes the so-called Röthwand, which separates the cauldron of the Königssee and the Obersees from the Röth, the plateau between Steinernem sea and Hagengebirge. With a total drop height of 470 meters the Röthbachfall is the highest waterfall in Germany. You can reach the Röthbachfall over the Fischunkelalm on the Obersee. Of course you have to go by boat over the Königssee to the Saletalm, and then make your way to the Obersee. This small, approximately 3 kilometer hike leads impressively along the shore of the Obersee along steep cliffs to the Fischunkelalm. Behind the alpine area, a small forest awaits you, which still has to be crossed, then you can see the water of the Röthbach impressive fall into the valley.
