The Limes adventure trail leads from Saalburg Castle to the Hollerkopf.

The route of the Limes adventure trail corresponds to the routing of the Limes hiking trail or the Limes bike hiking trail and is marked by a stylized Roman watchtower. In addition, signposts for the Taunus Nature Park provide better orientation.

The Limes runs through the entire Taunus from west to east and marked the outer border of the Roman Empire. For around 200 years - from the end of the 1st century to the second half of the 3rd century - the Limes protected the Taunus foreland, which was part of the Roman province of Upper Germany. The border system of the Limes includes, on the one hand, the actual border line, which was marked by ramparts and ditches, by a palisade or occasionally by a wall. On the other hand, it consisted of numerous watchtowers erected within sight and hearing distance of one another and a system of smaller and larger forts.

A beautiful, but perhaps somewhat monotonous hiking trail, which is definitely preferable to the wide forest paths. You don't see much of the Limes itself. There are also no information signs or anything like that about the Limes and its history.
The path is very easy to walk, is a bit steep in places, but is always easy to walk. Larger cleared areas along the path allow for beautiful views of Wehrheim and Neu-Anspach.
