Hameln is a city on the river. The place has been inhabited since the Stone Age. Hamelin, mentioned for the first time around 802 AD, has a checkered but urban planning happy and sometimes rich history. In addition to the old town and its buildings from the Romantic, Gothic and (Weser) Renaissance periods, visitors can see many buildings from the Baroque, Classicism, Historicism, Art Nouveau and modern times and, of course, trace the Pied Piper legend.
