The view from the church tower is very nice - the climb is really adventurous! The ascent cost 1 euro or 0.50 cents (child). The wooden stairs lead through the roof structure, past the clockwork and the bells and end in a very steep and narrow staircase. In the closed spire you can wonderfully enjoy the view over the city and the surrounding area.

The name St. Nicolai comes from Saint Nicholas, the 6th century bishop of Myra. He became very popular in the Middle Ages, among other things as the patron saint of shipping. The name of the church can probably be seen in connection with merchant shipping on the Weser in the Middle Ages.

The market church of St. Nicolai is Hameln's second oldest church and is located in the center of the old town - right next to the wedding house and the town hall destroyed in 1945 on the horse market.
The name St. Nicolai comes from St. Nicholas, bishop from Myra from the 6th century. He became very popular in the Middle Ages, ia. as patron saint of shipping. The name of the church can probably be seen in connection with the merchant shipping on the Weser in the Middle Ages.

From March to October and in December to the Christmas market, the Marktkirche is open daily from 12:00 to 16:00.
Please inquire about opening times in the remaining months at the parish office. Guided tours of the Marktkirche are also possible.
Pilgrim path Loccum-Volkenroda
The Marktkirche is only about 300 meters away from the pilgrimage station "Münster St. Bonifatius" on the Pilgrim Route Loccum - Volkenroda.
