The Hirschensteingipfel with its 1,095 m, its exposed location and the 7 m high observation tower gives a unique view in the Bavarian Forest. In the east it extends from the Großer Arber to the Dreisessel, in the south the area from Deggendorf to Straubing and in the west to the Gallner can be seen. On favorable days, the Alps from the Dachstein to the Zugspitze can be seen unimpeded - a visit is always worthwhile 😉

The Schuhfleck - hiking trail knot
Nine hiking trails meet here from all directions and places such as: Kalteck, Bernried, Grandsberg, Rettenbach and St. Englmar.
From Schuhfleck to Hirschenstein, hikers can choose from four paths.
The lookout tower - a distinguishing feature
It was built in 1921 by the Munich Section of the Bavarian Forest Association. A service for all far-viewers are the notices attached to the tower railing a few years ago by the Bavarian Forest Section Mitterfels with the objects to be recognized by the tower and their distances.

The high valley Achslach-Lindenau
