A circular path begins behind the boulder garden. It leads around the heights of the pit, which has been one of a total of 81 "National Geotopes" in Germany since 2006 due to its extraordinary geological significance.

The area, which is now a protected area, is open to the public. The gray and red rocks of the Zechstein and Rotlegen are visible, as is the Gipshut. Display boards provide information about the geological connections. Great!
