The castle towers high above the city and is simply breathtaking.
Hohensalzburg Castle is an important part of Salzburg's history and a symbol of the city's power and influence in the Middle Ages. From here the bishops were able to control and protect the city and the surrounding lands. Today you can visit a museum at the castle that will show you the history of Salzburg and the castle.
The view of Hohensalzburg Castle is simply indescribable. From the viewpoint you have a fantastic view of the city and the surrounding mountains. It's almost like you're in another world. The air is clear and fresh and the atmosphere is simply incredible.
