Hamburg's "green lung"

Planten un Blomen is located in the heart of the city, surrounded by shopping streets, the Congress Center, the exhibition center and St. Pauli.

The 45-hectare park lives up to its name: Magnificent plant beds and flower beds delight the eye and invite you to linger. Large lawns, idyllic streams and small lakes as well as uniquely designed theme gardens promise peace and relaxation. The park, which is accessible from all sides, also invites to entertainment and leisure activities. The summer concerts in the music pavilion and the colored water light concerts on the park lake, which take place every evening from May to September, are particularly popular.

The diversity and the central location make the park equally attractive for locals and guests of the Hanseatic city.

To the west of the show greenhouses, on the slope to the Bucerius Law School campus, are bricked-in entrances to a tunnel bunker from World War II. The extensive bunker was supposed to provide protection for up to 2,000 people. A planned but never realized extension of the tunnel system to below the music hall and today's exhibition halls could have protected up to 4,000 people. The system was never used. The construction was planned until November 1945, in May 1945 the Second World War ended in Europe. In 1962 the entrances and ventilation shafts were filled in and walled up.

22:00 it starts. Music, color, water for half an hour. Plenty to be there before for good photos. Cycling in the park is prohibited. Strong lens, 1 / 30s then it works without a tripod. Music is from the band, light and water are controlled live by artists. Return by train from Dammtor.
