On the Lindener Berg, the second highest mountain of Hanover, at an altitude of 89 m, the Bluestar (Scilla siberica) conquers the disused mountain cemetery in spring and forms a blue flower carpet for a short time.

The Lindener Bergfriedhof is a gem in the middle of the Linden district. It was laid out in 1862 and is a special place to this day, both as a historic cemetery, which is a listed building, and as a green oasis in the middle of the district. In 1965 the cemetery was closed and now serves as a park where you can linger. Someone who has inherited an old right to be buried is buried only once or twice a year. Every year in March, thousands of Scilla create a "blue wonder" here. And something else special: There are Christian and Jewish graves in this cemetery.
