Udine Cathedral is a Roman Catholic church under the patronage of the Annunciation of Mary (Duomo di Santa Maria Annunziata). It is the cathedral of the Archdiocese of Udine.

The first cathedral in Udine was built in 1236 at the instigation of Patriarch Berthold of Andechs-Meran and dedicated to St. Consecrated to Ulrich. In 1335 it was renovated and inaugurated with the dedication to Santa Maria Maggiore. The 1348 earthquake caused serious damage. Afterwards and in the following centuries, today's three-aisled building with choir and side chapels was built. First, the church was extended and the bell tower was placed on top of the existing baptistery. The chapels were added last. At the beginning of the 18th century, the Manin family supported a renovation with a baroque redesign of the interior by the architect Domenico Rossi. Artists like Giovanni Battista Tiepolo were involved. The cathedral was rededicated in 1735 by Patriarch Daniel Dolfino with the dedication to Santa Maria Annunciata.

Cathedral of Santa Maria Annunziata in Udine – This impressive cathedral, the oldest part of which dates back to 1335, is located right near Piazza Libertà. The octagonal bell tower cannot be missed.
