The gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle are located on the eastern outskirts of Merano in South Tyrol / Italy. Named after its landmark - Trauttmansdorff Castle - the botanical garden of the spa town of Merano covers an area of about twelve hectares. Natural and cultural landscapes from all over the world, botanical rarities, theme gardens as well as local vegetation pictures of the province of South Tyrol form the focus of garden design. Compared to a classic botanical garden, whose planting is mainly on flat surfaces, the gardens around the castle extend over a height difference of about 100 meters. With around 400,000 visitors a year, the botanical garden, opened in 2001, is at the top of the most visited leisure facilities in South Tyrol. The castle itself houses the South Tyrol Museum of Tourism, the Touriseum
