At the suggestion of the later mayor of Badenhop, a small group of interested Unterstedter came together in 1992 to discuss the establishment of a home association. In the same year the association was founded with 51 members. Under the name "Ünnerstedter Spieker e.V.", the association started under the chairmanship of Dr. Sommerwerk immediately started activities. The main tasks were to secure historical buildings and create a home for the association. The first joint action was then to save the sheep pen in the Unterstedter Feldmark. In 1994 the warehouse ("Spieker") was acquired as the original cell of today's building ensemble. At the same time, a dance group was founded that continues to perform with children and young people as "Spiekermäuse".

The granary in Unterstedt was saved from decay by the local association and offers a historical ensemble with a rest area and oven. If you like, you can also start two northern paths from here, as the access path runs directly along the Spieker.
