The Château du Girsberg is a picturesque castle ruin located near Ribeauvillé in Alsace, France. The castle was built in the 13th century and sits majestically on a hill that offers breathtaking views of the surrounding Alsace.

The Château du Girsberg consists of remnants of the defensive walls, towers and residential buildings. It is an impressive example of medieval architecture and exudes a romantic charm. The castle ruins are surrounded by lush nature and offer visitors an unforgettable panorama of the surrounding vineyards and valleys.

The castle was once owned by the noble Ribeaupierre family, who played a significant role in Alsace during the Middle Ages. Over time, the Château du Girsberg was destroyed and rebuilt several times before it was finally abandoned in the 17th century.

Château du Girsberg is the ruin of a spur castle in the area of Ribeauvillé and was first mentioned in documents in 1288.
Besieged and captured by the Lords of Rappoltstein during a feud in the first quarter of the 15th century, it was abandoned and left to decay at the beginning of the 16th century. The ruin, like the two neighboring castles Hoherappoltstein and Ulrichsburg, has been under monument protection since October 1, 1841 as a classified monument historique.
