The Weaver's Cave (Slovene: Tkalca jama), also known as the Inlet Cave (Zatočna jama), is a ponor cave in southwestern Slovenia. It runs from the western side (downstream) of the Rak Škocjan Valley, where it has two entrances, and continues in the Planina Cave. It is drained by the Rak stream, which is part of the Ljubljanica spring system.
The cave was named after a stalagmite resembling a weaver. An old story says that he turned to stone because he worked on Sunday, the Lord's day.
The cave was also depicted by artists including Franz Goldenstein (1808-1878) in the 1850s. His painting of Rak Škocjan's Great Natural Bridge from inside the cave is on display in the Slovenian National Gallery.

The cave can be crossed if the water level allows it. The riverbed had dried up for us.

The descent is very slippery because of the damp ground. Even if it looks like this on the maps, you have to leave this cave in the same direction and cannot hike through it.

One comes through the dried river bed in the approximately 100 m long cave, the output is above and can be reached by stairs and ropes. Worthwhile detour in dry conditions!
