    It's a truly impressive natural spectacle to watch the water cascade 97 meters down. The waterfall can be viewed from two sides: above and below. From the top, towards Todtnau, the mountain isn't particularly crowded for parking, but you then have to climb the entire mountain (and waterfall) back up. It's very beautiful, but also strenuous. There are more parking spaces below, but they're also full, and you don't necessarily have to climb all the way up. But to each his own.

      The waterfall is formed by the Stübenbach ("Stiebender Bach"), which rises in the area of ​​the Stübenwasen in the Feldberggebiet.                                   The Todtnau waterfall is the highest natural waterfall in the Black Forest at 94 m high. The Stübenbach falls over the gneiss rock in four stages. The main waterfall is 60 m high. This waterfall was created by the erosive power of the ice at a geological fault (fracture point). Here the ice flowed from the Todtnauberg high valley into the main glacier of the Wiesental. With a thickness of up to 500 m, this cut into the Wiesental much deeper than the Stübenbach glacier cut into the Todtnauberg valley. After the ice melted, a so-called hanging valley remained, over whose mouth the water now falls. The erosive power of the water will need several million years to "level" this magnificent natural spectacle.
